Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking an experienced Security & Wellbeing Services Manager to support a specialist healthcare-focused operational team within a major NHS Trust.

Job Overview

This role sits within a Safe and Wellbeing service, supporting clinical environments where patients may present with complex needs, including mental health challenges, distress, or behaviours that may become volatile. The position focuses on maintaining a safe and controlled environment for patients, staff, and visitors while enabling clinical teams to deliver effective care.

This is not a traditional security guarding role; it requires a people-focused leader who can operate confidently in high-pressure, sensitive healthcare settings. The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring safety, responding to incidents, and supporting teams working in emotionally demanding and fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Security & Wellbeing service within a healthcare setting
  • Support staff working in environments involving distress, behavioural escalation, and mental health-related incidents
  • Ensure safe, structured, and effective responses to incidents involving risk to staff, patients, or visitors
  • Work collaboratively with clinical and operational teams to maintain safe patient care environments
  • Manage staffing levels, rota planning, and operational continuity across a 24/7 service
  • Monitor service delivery, performance standards, and adherence to operational procedures
  • Conduct incident reviews, risk assessments, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate operational reporting and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Strong experience in people management within operational or frontline environments
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and structured under pressure
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience managing teams and delivering services in a structured operational setting
  • Willingness to work a rotational shift pattern, including nights and weekends
  • Commitment to training, development, and continuous improvement

Desirable:

  • Experience within healthcare, mental health, or public-facing operational services
  • Background in security, safety, or incident response
  • Experience managing large teams or 24/7 operational environments
  • Understanding of safeguarding or risk-based service delivery

We are committed to creating an inclusive, respectful, and supportive working environment. Applications are welcomed from individuals of all backgrounds, and we actively promote diversity, equality, and wellbeing across our workforce.
