SEMH Teaching Assistant

Location: Bushey , Hertfordshire
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Contract: Term-time only

We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant.

The successful candidate will work with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing support both in and outside the classroom. You will play an important role in helping students to engage with their education, manage their emotions and develop positive relationships.



The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with young people, particularly those with SEMH or additional needs.
  • Be patient, compassionate, resilient and confident in managing challenging behaviour.
  • Be able to build positive and trusting relationships with students and staff.
  • Be available to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm, term-time only.
  • Be able to provide references covering the last two years.


Compliance requirements:

Applicants must hold a Child Workforce Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.

If you need to apply for a new DBS, you may be eligible to receive a refund for the cost after successfully completing 20 days of work, subject to the relevant terms and conditions.
