SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant - Primary School - Rugby

We are working closely with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Rugby who are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their team from October 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a part-time school-based role, working 10:00am-2:00pm every day, Monday to Friday, while providing tailored one-to-one support within a nurturing school environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with a child on a one-to-one basis, helping them overcome barriers to learning, develop independence, and engage positively with their education. The school supports pupils with a range of needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, social and emotional needs, and learning difficulties.



Your Role Will Involve:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs

  • Working 10:00am-2:00pm, Monday to Friday

  • Supporting the child's academic, social, and emotional development

  • Assisting the class teacher with personalised learning activities and interventions

  • Helping the pupil manage emotions, regulate behaviour, and engage in classroom activities

  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive relationships

  • Supporting communication and social skills development

  • Creating a calm, consistent, and inclusive learning environment

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals where required



We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN

  • Is patient, caring, and able to build strong relationships with pupils

  • Has a calm and consistent approach when supporting challenging situations

  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Is resilient, proactive, and adaptable

  • Has experience working with children in a school, care, nursery, youth work, or similar setting (desirable but not essential)

  • Is enthusiastic about developing their skills within a primary school environment

  • Is available to work 10:00am-2:00pm, Monday to Friday
