Academics, an established Education Agency, are acting as an agency and are recruiting an SEN Learning Support Assistant to work on a temporary, ongoing supply basis within a variety of welcoming mainstream schools throughout Doncaster.

This SEN Learning Support Assistant opportunity involves supporting pupils with additional needs within mainstream classrooms across Doncaster. Working as an SEN Learning Support Assistant may include providing classroom support, small group intervention or 1:1 assistance depending on the individual needs of pupils.

Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant
Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply
Pay: £92.56 - £100 per day (dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available, paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees, inclusive of holiday pay)
Start Date: ASAP or a start date that works for you

About the Role

Working as an SEN Learning Support Assistant in Doncaster, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs, which may include Autism, ADHD, SEMH needs and learning difficulties.

The SEN Learning Support Assistant role in Doncaster offers the opportunity to work across a variety of mainstream schools whilst helping pupils access learning, develop confidence and make progress within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEN within mainstream classrooms
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support where required
  • Assist pupils to access learning and classroom activities
  • Encourage positive behaviour and independence
  • Support pupils' social and emotional development
  • Follow safeguarding procedures at all times

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN
  • Understanding of needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH or learning difficulties
  • Patient, supportive and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
