Salary: £96-£110 per day

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant looking for your next opportunity? Empowering Learning is working with a welcoming secondary school in Darlington to recruit a committed LSA to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a student with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential within a supportive school environment.

As a Secondary Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with SEN throughout the school day.

• Support the student's academic, social and emotional development.

• Adapt learning activities to meet the student's individual needs.

• Encourage independence while providing appropriate guidance and reassurance.

• Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and pastoral staff to implement personalised support strategies.

• Promote positive behaviour and help create an inclusive learning environment.

• Build a positive, trusting relationship that enables the student to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs, either in a school or similar setting.

• A patient, caring and resilient approach.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• The ability to remain calm and adaptable in different situations.

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).

• Team Teach training (desirable but not essential).

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one.
