SEN Teacher – Early Years Nurture Class
Are you passionate about supporting young children with additional needs and looking for a permanent opportunity within a specialist setting?
Create Education are currently working with a fantastic SEN school in Croydon who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and nurturing SEN Teacher to join their Early Years team.
The successful candidate will work within the school's Early Years Nurture Class, supporting young children with a range of additional needs, including ASD and SEMH. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher or experienced SEN practitioner who wants to work in a smaller, nurturing environment where relationships, communication and individual development are at the heart of the provision.
The school is happy to consider both qualified and unqualified candidates, providing you have the relevant experience, knowledge and passion for working with children with SEN.
The Role
As an SEN Teacher within the Early Years Nurture Class, you will:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences tailored to individual needs.
  • Support children with ASD, SEMH and other additional needs.
  • Create a calm, safe and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Develop positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider SEN team.
  • Adapt activities and learning to ensure every child can access the curriculum.
  • Support children's communication, social and emotional development.
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute towards individual support plans.
  • Work closely with parents, carers and other professionals where appropriate.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour through consistent and nurturing approaches.
The Ideal Candidate
The school would particularly like to hear from candidates who have:
  • Experience working with children with SEN, ASD and/or SEMH.
  • A genuine passion for Early Years education and supporting vulnerable learners.
  • A nurturing, patient and child-centred approach.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • The ability to adapt learning to meet a wide range of individual needs.
  • Experience working within a specialist, SEN or nurture environment would be highly advantageous.
  • QTS is welcomed but is not essential – the school is happy to consider experienced unqualified candidates.
