Starfyn Education are looking for an energetic and flexible individual who join the Starfyn Family in a long-term, full-time role KS2 Teacher role!
 
One of our schools’ provisions caters for students aged 4 to 11, looking for a full-time qualified teacher to join the team, starting in September! The provision caters for children who have a range of moderate to severe learning difficulties and complex needs. The Satellite Site offers a learning environment that has been adapted to meet the needs of the children, this includes safe and stimulating classrooms, play areas, both indoors and outside and specialist facilities.
 
The school is looking for someone who has experience in Teaching in a Special Needs School and is flexible and happy to support students across all ages when needed. You will be expected to work from 8:30am to 4pm – 5 days a week.

The Role: SEN Teacher
Days Required:  Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4pm (Full-time)
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (Dependent on Experience)
Location: Morden
Employment Type: Agency (Either Temporary to Permanent or Ongoing Contract)
 
The Ideal Candidate Will
  • Have experience of working with children and young adults with special educational needs and have the ability to communicate and empathise with children who have severe and complex Special Educational Needs.
  • Knowledge of assessment and teaching strategies appropriate to children with Special Educational Needs
  • Knowledge of emotion coaching, TEACCH approach, PACE and the theory behind zones of regulation.
  • Hold a QTS qualification or equivalent with a valid DBS on the update service.
  • Pass an interview and an observed lesson with the students.
 
Main Duties
  • Plan and Deliver lessons to meet the individual needs of the children – including 1:1 and small groups.
  • Coach support staff to participate in delivery.
  • Supervision of students who don’t work toward a typical mainstream timetable.
  • Build & Maintain relationships with all pupils – acting as a role model/mentor.
