SEN Teaching Assistant – Oldham
Location: Oldham
Salary: £95–£115 per day, depending on experience

Engage Education are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work within a specialist SEN school in Oldham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is caring, patient and passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff to provide personalised support to pupils with a range of additional needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support
- Supporting pupils with SEN and additional learning needs
- Helping pupils access the curriculum through differentiated activities
- Supporting students with autism, ADHD, SEMH and complex needs
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Supporting communication, confidence and independence
- Working alongside teachers and SENCOs to meet individual needs
- Supporting EHCP outcomes and individual learning plans
- Helping pupils develop their social, emotional and academic skills
About You

- Adaptable and willing to learn
Previous experience in SEN, schools, care, youth work, mentoring, sports coaching or support work would be highly desirable.
Teaching qualifications are not essential — we are interested in candidates with the right attitude, experience and passion for supporting young people.
