SEN Teaching Assistant – Huntingdon & Peterborough
£90–£115 per day | Long-Term, Temporary & Temp-to-Perm Opportunities
Charlie’s Angels Education is looking for caring, confident and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants to support children and young people across mainstream and specialist education settings throughout Huntingdon, Peterborough and surrounding areas.
We’re keen to hear from experienced SEN professionals as well as people with transferable experience who are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs experience supporting pupils with a wide range of special educational needs, including:
- Autism / Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
- ADHD / ADD
- Complex Needs
- Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD)
- Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and Dyspraxia
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)
- Sensory Processing Needs
- Physical Disabilities
- Visual or Hearing Impairments
- Non-verbal / minimally verbal pupils
- Communication needs, including AAC
- Behaviour that may challenge
- Trauma-related and attachment needs
- Social and emotional difficulties
- Multiple or overlapping additional needs
The role may involve
Providing 1:1, small-group or whole-class support, helping pupils access learning, supporting communication and emotional regulation, implementing individual support strategies and working alongside teachers, SENCOs and other professionals.
Depending on the setting and pupil needs, you may also support EHCP targets, sensory programmes, communication strategies, personal development and positive behaviour support.
Who we'd love to hear from
We're also interested in people coming from care, residential childcare, youth work, mentoring, healthcare, sports coaching or other child-focused environments who have relevant transferable experience.
You should be patient, reliable and adaptable, with the ability to build safe and positive relationships with children and young people.
Applicants will be subject to appropriate safeguarding and compliance checks, including an enhanced DBS and satisfactory references.
