SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Kingston -Upon-Thames
Start date: 3rd September 2026
Contract: full-time | Monday – Friday | 8:30am to 4pm
 
The Role
We are seeking a caring, proactive and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Kingston area. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with additional needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence and achieve their individual goals within a nurturing and inclusive school environment.
Main Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning and intervention programmes.
  • Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development throughout the school day.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and encourage pupil engagement.
  • Help create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to observations and feedback for the wider school team.
About You
  • A compassionate, patient and enthusiastic approach to supporting children with SEN.
  • Previous experience working with children with additional needs in a school or similar setting is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider school team.
  • A proactive, adaptable and positive attitude.
  • A genuine passion for helping every child reach their full potential.
