We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join welcoming and supportive schools in Hinckley. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them reach their full potential.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, working closely with teachers and SENCOs to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. You may be supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, helping them to access the curriculum and develop confidence both academically and socially.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or in a similar role supporting children with Special Educational Needs is essential.
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential, or you must be willing to obtain one before starting employment.
Experience supporting pupils with needs such as Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH, or other additional learning needs is advantageous.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN.
Support pupils with their learning, emotional wellbeing, and social development.
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and encourage independence.
Prepare learning resources and adapt activities to meet individual needs.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and other professionals to support pupil progress.
