A specialist Early Years provision in Wandsworth Town is looking for a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team full time from September.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work specifically with children aged 2-3 with special educational needs, supporting them during a crucial stage of their early development.

The school is looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is patient, nurturing and passionate about helping young children with additional needs make progress and develop their independence.



The SEN Teaching Assistant Role

  • Support children aged 2-3 within a specialist SEN provision.

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support according to individual needs.

  • Support children's communication, social interaction and emotional development.

  • Encourage learning and development through engaging, play-based activities.

  • Help children develop independence and essential early skills.

  • Support children with sensory and communication needs.

  • Work closely with teachers, Early Years practitioners, SEN staff and other professionals.

  • Assist with personal care and daily routines where required.

  • Help maintain a safe, positive and nurturing environment.



The Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND is highly desirable.

  • Early Years, nursery or specialist provision experience would be advantageous.

  • A genuine interest in working with very young children with additional needs.

  • Patient, calm and nurturing approach.

  • Comfortable providing personal care where required.

  • Reliable and committed to a full-time position from September.

  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
