We are seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive specialist secondary school in Telford. This is a full time opportunity starting ASAP, and will become a permanent position for the successful applicant.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting secondary aged pupils with special educational needs throughout their educational journey. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will help students access learning, develop essential life skills, and achieve positive outcomes both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one to one and small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs.
  • Assist in the delivery of personalised learning activities tailored to individual student needs.
  • Adapt classroom resources and materials to ensure accessibility and engagement.
  • Encourage independence, positive behaviour, communication, and social development.
  • Support students' emotional wellbeing and help create a positive learning experience.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and external professionals to support student progress and achievement.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Graduates and final year university students from any academic background are encouraged to apply.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is previous experience working in a school setting.
