Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs?
A friendly and inclusive primary school in Barnet is looking to appoint a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a Year 3 class from September. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nurturing school where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential in a caring and well-structured environment.
Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo, youll provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them engage with learning, develop confidence and make meaningful progress both academically and socially.
Your Role
• Support Year 3 pupils with SEN through a mixture of in-class, small-group and 1:1 interventions.
• Adapt learning activities and classroom resources to meet individual needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and successful participation in lessons.
• Build pupils confidence, independence and resilience throughout the school day.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and the SENDCo to implement support plans and monitor progress.
• Foster an inclusive classroom where every child feels valued, supported and able to succeed.
Were Looking For Someone Who:
• Has experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in Key Stage 2.
• Has previously supported pupils with SEND, including speech and language needs, autism, learning difficulties or social, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Is calm, patient and able to build positive relationships with children.
• Can work independently while following guidance from teaching staff.
• Is enthusiastic, reliable and committed to making a genuine difference to pupils lives.
