SEN Teaching Assistant in Redbridge

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated SEN TA to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Redbridge, working within their alternative provision supporting pupils with additional needs, predominantly ASD.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate SEN TA who has experience working with children with autism and understands the importance of providing consistent, patient and individualised support.

The successful SEN TA will work closely with pupils within the alternative provision, helping them to access learning, develop their confidence and build positive relationships. The school is looking for a SEN TA who can create a calm and structured environment while adapting their approach to meet individual needs.

The Role

As a SEN TA, you will:

• Work within the school's alternative provision supporting pupils with SEN, predominantly ASD.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.
• Support pupils with communication, social and emotional needs.
• Help pupils engage with learning and develop their independence.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team.
• Adapt your approach to suit individual pupils and their needs.
• Help create a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment.

About You

The school is looking for a SEN TA who:

• Has previous experience supporting children with SEN and ASD.
• Understands the needs of pupils with autism.
• Is patient, caring and consistent in their approach.
• Is confident supporting children who may struggle within a mainstream classroom environment.
• Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils.
• Is able to remain calm and supportive when faced with challenging situations.
• Works well as part of a wider school team.
• Is reliable and available for an immediate start.
