SEN Teaching Assistants required to work in a Special needs school in in Brixton

Principal Education is seeking hard-working and enthusiastic educators to work as Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) in special needs schools across London. These roles are ideal for individuals passionate about making a positive impact on children’s academic and social development.

The role:
As an LSA, you will support children with statemented special needs, working either 1:1 or in small groups. You will collaborate closely with teachers to create a safe and inclusive learning environment, providing consistency and support that fosters positive outcomes. These roles typically require full-time availability (Monday–Friday).

Ideal candidate:

• Experienced working with children with SEN or behavioural challenges

• Patient, empathetic, and proactive in supporting diverse needs

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• Able to remain calm under pressure and use restorative approaches

What you MUST demonstrate:

• Right to work in the UK
• Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs and behavioural challenges
• Patience, empathy, composure, and diligence
• Flexibility and adaptability
• Recent enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
• Overseas police clearance if lived abroad for 6+ months in last 5 years
• Based in London or within a commutable distance

Pay and benefits:

• £100–£120 per day
• Potential higher rates for ongoing roles, aligned with school pay scales
