Salary: £35,602 - £54,328 per annum (M1–UPS3, London Fringe pay scale), plus SEN allowance

Salary depends on experience and pay scale position. The maximum applies to candidates with substantial teaching experience equivalent to UPS3.

About the Role:

Teach small classes, build trusting relationships and help children develop confidence in learning. Teach Now is recruiting a SEND Teacher (SEMH Specialism) for a well-resourced specialist primary setting in Stevenage.

With approximately 8–10 pupils per class and experienced Teaching Assistants alongside you, you will deliver personalised lessons that support academic, social and emotional development. Clear routines, positive behaviour strategies and a patient approach will help pupils feel secure and ready to participate.

Mainstream teachers and ECTs are encouraged to apply. Previous specialist experience is welcome but not essential. A comprehensive induction, specialist SEMH training and regular supervision will support your transition and development.

Requirements:

• Experience teaching primary-aged children, including during initial teacher training.
  
• The ability to plan engaging lessons and adapt learning to individual needs.
  
• Confident behaviour management and a calm, resilient approach.
  
• Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to developing your SEMH practice.
  
• A sound understanding of safeguarding, the right to work in the UK and willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check and reference checks.
