Pay Range: £95 – £120 per day

ANZUK Education is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lewisham seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from an immediate start. This full-time position offers the opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning and reach their full potential within a nurturing and well-resourced environment.

The school is committed to providing an inclusive education for all pupils and has a dedicated SEND team that works collaboratively to ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive both academically and socially.

This SEND Teaching Assistant role in Lewisham would suit experienced Teaching Assistants or Learning Support Assistants who have previously worked within a SEND setting and are passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities of SEND Teaching Assistant:

Provide high-quality support to pupils with a range of special educational needs on a 1:1 and small group basis.

Support the class teacher in delivering differentiated learning activities tailored to individual pupil needs.

Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and individual support plans.

Promote pupils' communication, independence, social skills and emotional wellbeing.

Support positive behaviour and encourage engagement in learning throughout the school day.

Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENDCo and external professionals to support pupil progress.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have proven experience working within a SEND setting (essential).

Have experience supporting children with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs or SEMH.

Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) or a degree.

Demonstrate strong knowledge of inclusive practice and SEND support strategies.

Be patient, proactive and adaptable in their approach to supporting pupils.

Maintain high expectations for pupil progress, behaviour and wellbeing.

Show a clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and communicate confidently with staff and families.
