This is a potential Temp-to-Perm role, starting ASAP at a Secondary SEND school in Bury.
Role: Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant at a SEND school in Bury.
Start date: ASAP.
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm.
Contract: Temp-to-Perm – potential to move onto contract at school.
Excellent pay: £100-115/day DOE for first 12 weeks – paid PAYE direct via Cover People. We don’t use umbrella companies!
What you’ll do
- Supporting a range of children with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and Communication Needs.
- You will need to look out for triggers and employ preventative strategies and de-escalation techniques to help manage their behaviour so that pupils can focus on learning and the teacher can focus on delivery.
- Tailored support in lessons, breaking down instructions and tasks so they are easily understood and the pupil feels they are achievable.
- At times you may be required to support the rest of the class or others.
- Providing lots of encouragement and positive reinforcement.
- Working closely with the teacher, management, support staff, parents and outside professionals.
- Contribute to a safe, positive, inclusive and collaborative work environment.

Requirements
- CV with full history from education to present.
- Right to Work & Proof of Address in the UK.
- DBS certificate on the Update Service (or be happy to apply for a new one).
- Min of 2 professional references.
- Overseas Police Check if applicable.
- Some experience supporting primary aged children with behaviour needs.
