A leading independent school in Hampshire is seeking a SEND Learning Support Assistant from September 2026. This is a full time and permanent role.

This independent special school is dedicated to supporting children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. You’ll be there to help them learn, develop their abilities and raise their self-esteem. You will need to be resilient and dedicated.

Standard working hours - Monday to Thursday 8.30-4pm and Friday 8.30 - 1pm

  • Under the teacher’s clear guidance, to support the education, personal and social development of pupils in the class including those with special needs and to establish a positive relationship with pupils.
  • To undertake activities to assist in monitoring the personal, social and emotional needs of pupils.
  • To develop positive relationships with pupils to assist pupil progress and attainment.
  • To assist in the devising of pupils’ individual targets and their monitoring and review.
  • Support pupils as part of a planned inclusion programme.
  • To support the child at playtime as necessary.

The Head is looking for someone who has experience of working with children, has a cheerful and positive outlook, is patient and has the ability to remain calm and works as part of a team.
