About the Role

Bodhi Solutions is looking for an organised, proactive and commercially minded Buyer to join our team. Working within our construction and facilities maintenance business, you will be responsible for sourcing materials, obtaining competitive quotations and ensuring that materials, products and services are procured efficiently and delivered in line with project requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with purchasing or buying experience who understands the importance of cost control, supplier relationships and keeping projects running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and procure construction materials, equipment, tools and services in line with project requirements.

  • Obtain and compare supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing and value for money.

  • Negotiate prices, delivery schedules and supplier terms where appropriate.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Process purchase orders accurately and ensure orders are placed in a timely manner.

  • Monitor order progress and chase deliveries to ensure materials arrive when required.

  • Liaise with project managers, site teams, operations and accounts to establish purchasing requirements.

  • Identify alternative suppliers and cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information and order documentation.

  • Assist with resolving supplier issues, including delivery delays, incorrect orders and quality concerns.

  • Ensure purchasing activities comply with company procedures and approval limits.

About You

We are looking for someone who is commercially aware, well organised and confident managing multiple purchasing requirements in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a buying, purchasing or procurement role.

  • Experience sourcing materials, products or services, ideally within construction, building maintenance or a related industry.

  • Strong negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail and confidence maintaining accurate records.

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and cost control.

  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues across the business.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience.

  • Permanent, full-time employment.

  • The opportunity to contribute directly to project delivery and business performance.

  • A varied role within a growing construction and facilities maintenance business.

  • The opportunity to develop supplier relationships and improve purchasing processes.
