We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established, independent, family-run residential dementia care home. The service provides high-quality, person-centred care within a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment where residents are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion at all times.

The home currently supports 27 privately funded residents and has built an excellent reputation for delivering consistent, high-quality dementia care within a close-knit, homely setting. Residents benefit from meaningful daily activities, personalised care planning, and a dedicated team focused on enhancing quality of life.

An exciting period of development is underway, with a newly commissioned 9-bed specialist dementia care unit increasing overall capacity from 27 to 36 residents. This expansion reflects ongoing investment in the service and a commitment to enhancing both facilities and the resident experience.

This growth has created an excellent opportunity for experienced Senior Care Assistants to join a stable and supportive team at a key stage in its development.

This is a full-time position (36 hours per week), working 8:00am–8:00pm or 8:00pm–8:00am, with shifts and patterns discussed at interview.

The Role

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care while supporting and guiding the care team across shifts.

You will be responsible for:

• Delivering person-centred care to residents living with dementia and age-related conditions
• Leading shifts and supporting junior care staff through supervision and example
• Safely administering medication in line with training and procedures
• Maintaining accurate care records and documentation
• Promoting dignity, independence, privacy, and wellbeing at all times
• Communicating effectively with residents, relatives, and colleagues
• Supporting a positive, calm, and professional team culture
• Working flexibly across day and night shifts as required

About You

• Previous experience in providing care essential
• Supervisory experience preferred (minimum 1 year)
• NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (required)
• Medication administration experience preferred
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Calm, reliable, and proactive approach
• Able to work as part of a team and independently
• Passionate about delivering high-quality dementia care
