Senior Civil & Structural Technician
Location: Peterborough
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum

Position 1 Recruitment are delighted to be working with a successful construction consultancy who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Civil & Structural Technician to join their team.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality technical drawings and models using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Interpret engineers' calculations, sketches and design information to develop accurate and detailed construction drawings.
- Liaise with clients, engineers and wider project teams to develop coordinated models.
- Support projects through to construction, responding to technical queries from site relating to drawings and technical details.
- Mentor and oversee less experienced technicians, providing guidance and technical support where required.
- Assist with the administration and development of internal systems and processes.
- Produce detailed drawings and schedules for a variety of civil and structural projects.
- Work across projects incorporating steelwork, concrete, masonry and timber.
- Undertake reinforced concrete detailing and scheduling.
- Produce drainage scheme details in line with relevant standards and requirements.
- Contribute to highway and private development infrastructure schemes, including alignments, crossfalls and visibility splays.
About You
- A minimum of 8 years' relevant UK experience as a Civil / Structural Technician.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience working on projects delivered in accordance with BIM Level 2, with a good understanding of the associated protocols.
- Experience working with steelwork, concrete, masonry and timber.
- Strong experience in reinforced concrete detailing and scheduling.
- Previous experience detailing drainage schemes.
- Knowledge of requirements associated with S38, S278, S104, S106 and S185 agreements.
- Experience with flood risk assessments and drainage strategies.
- Experience working on highway and private development infrastructure schemes.
- Knowledge of alignments, crossfalls and visibility splays to adoptable standards.
- Proficiency in Navisworks and Civil 3D.
- Good commercial awareness and an understanding of the pressures faced by SMEs.
- Ideally, an ICE or IStructE EngTech qualification, or a willingness to work towards one.
