Senior Contracts Manager

We are seeking an ambitious, commercially astute Senior Contracts Manager to join our growing fencing and security fencing business.
This is more than a traditional Contracts Manager role. As a key member of the leadership team, you will work directly alongside the Managing Director, taking responsibility for the operational and commercial delivery of projects whilst helping to shape the future growth of the business.
The successful candidate will become the central point of coordination between clients, site teams, suppliers, subcontractors and the Managing Director. You will be trusted to make decisions, solve problems, drive performance and ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably and to the highest standards.
This role offers genuine scope to progress into a senior operational leadership position as the business continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead the delivery of multiple fencing and security fencing projects from contract award through to completion.
- Take ownership of operational planning and resource allocation across all live contracts.
- Manage and support fencing teams, supervisors and subcontractors to achieve programme objectives.
- Drive productivity, efficiency and quality across all projects.
Commercial Management
- Take ownership of the commercial performance of contracts.
- Monitor project profitability, labour productivity and cost control.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, principal contractors and stakeholders.
- Attend client meetings and represent the business professionally.
- Manage client expectations and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Candidate Profile
- Significant experience managing construction, infrastructure, fencing, civil engineering or related contracts.
- Strong commercial awareness with a proven track record of delivering profitable projects.
- Experience managing multiple projects and operational teams simultaneously.
- Excellent programme management and organisational skills.
- Strong leadership capability with experience managing site-based teams.
- Confident communicator able to build relationships at all levels.
- Ability to make decisions and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
- Is highly organised and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of NEC and JCT forms of contract.
