We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Document Controller to join a leading engineering and infrastructure organisation on an initial 12-month contract based in Redcar.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Document Controller, Document Control Lead or Information Manager to take ownership of document control and information management activities across a range of engineering and construction projects.

Working within an established team, you will be responsible for setting up, managing and maintaining project document control systems, ensuring project information is accurately controlled and effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.

As Senior Document Controller, you will play a key role in managing project documentation and supporting the delivery of effective information management processes.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing, managing and maintaining project document control systems in accordance with company, client and project requirements.

  • Taking ownership of document control and information management activities across multiple projects.

  • Developing, implementing and improving document control procedures, processes and guidance.

  • Managing the accurate recording, distribution, tracking and control of project documentation.

  • Supporting information management requirements throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-contract and design stages through to construction and delivery.

  • Liaising with project teams, senior stakeholders and clients to ensure effective document and information management.

  • Monitoring document control activities, maintaining accurate records and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Producing reports and ensuring project information is managed in accordance with agreed procedures.

  • Working independently on assigned projects whilst collaborating effectively with wider project teams.

  • Supporting the delivery of project objectives in accordance with quality, safety and compliance requirements.

Ideally you'll have:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Document Controller, Document Controller, Document Control Lead, Information Controller or Information Manager within an engineering, construction or infrastructure environment.

  • Strong knowledge of document control procedures, systems, processes and best practices.

  • Experience establishing, managing and improving project document control systems.

  • A good understanding of information management principles and techniques.

  • Experience developing and implementing document control procedures and guidance.

  • Previous involvement in projects from pre-contract and design stages through to construction and delivery would be advantageous.

  • The ability to independently manage document control responsibilities with minimal supervision.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior project personnel.

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • A collaborative, flexible and solutions-focused approach to project delivery, with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join an established engineering and infrastructure organisation delivering a diverse range of projects.

The position offers responsibility and autonomy, with the opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of document control and information management processes whilst working alongside experienced project professionals.

The initial contract duration is approximately 12 months, with the position based in Redcar and potential for hybrid working, subject to confirmation.
