Are you an experienced SEND professional ready to step into a leadership role where you can make a real impact? 

As a Senior EHCP Officer - Early Years & Primary, you will oversee a geographical area within EHCP casework, lead a high-performing team of Casework Officers and an Assistant Officer, and play a key role in ensuring statutory compliance across Early Years and Primary services. Reporting into senior SEND leadership, you will be responsible for driving performance, chairing panels, managing complex cases, supporting recruitment, and ensuring children and young people receive the support they need within statutory timescales. Your Role as Senior EHCP Officer - Early Years & Primary

  • Lead and manage a team of EHCP Casework Officers, setting KPIs and monitoring performance
  • Ensure SEND statutory processes are delivered within required timescales and in line with the SEND Code of Practice
  • Chair panels, make evidence-based funding decisions and represent the Local Authority in key decision-making forums
  • Lead on complex SENDIST Tribunal cases, ensuring all legal deadlines and procedural requirements are met
  • Build strong relationships with schools, families and partner agencies, managing expectations and resolving disputes effectively

Your Previous Experience as Senior Officer - EHCP Early Years & Primary 

  • Extensive SEND and EHCP casework experience within a Local Authority setting
  • Strong leadership and line management experience with a proven ability to develop high-performing teams
  • Detailed knowledge of SEND legislation, statutory processes and the SEND Code of Practice
  • Experience managing SENDIST Tribunal cases and working within strict legal deadlines
  • Ability to make robust, equitable and evidence-based decisions relating to SEND provision and funding

As a Senior EHCP Officer - Early Years & Primary, you will also have oversight of safeguarding, placement monitoring, transition planning and multi-agency working, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery and compliance are maintained at all times.
