A well-established fire safety consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Fire Risk Assessor to join their Birmingham team.
The successful Senior Fire Risk Assessor will carry out detailed fire risk assessments across a varied portfolio of commercial, industrial and residential properties. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong professional looking to take on greater responsibility within a respected consultancy.
The Senior Fire Risk Assessor's Role
The Senior Fire Risk Assessor will be responsible for completing high-quality, site-based fire risk assessments and providing clear, practical advice to clients.
Responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out fire risk assessments across a range of premises
- Liaising with clients to coordinate inspection programmes and remedial works
- Ensuring buildings comply with current fire safety legislation and technical standards
- Preparing schedules of work, specifications and remedial recommendations
- Monitoring works on site and checking compliance with agreed specifications
- Advising on fire-related Building Regulations matters
- Reviewing, validating and signing off fire risk assessments
- Supporting annual internal audits of Fire Risk Assessors
- Managing projects within agreed budgets and deadlines
The Senior Fire Risk Assessor
The successful Senior Fire Risk Assessor will have:
- Strong experience in a similar fire safety role
- Detailed knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order
- A Level 4 qualification in fire risk management, or Level 5 qualification in fire risk assessment or fire engineering
- Completion of an IFE-approved fire risk assessment course
- Registration with IFE, FRACS or IFSM
- Tier 3 IFSM registration where applicable
- Experience as a validator under the BAFE SP205-1 scheme
- Experience assessing commercial, industrial or residential premises
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
