Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Edinburgh | £45,000 - £60,000

A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their established team in Edinburgh, working on a range of major renewable energy and infrastructure projects across the UK.

This is a varied role covering both technical delivery and project management, with opportunities to work across wind, solar, battery energy storage and associated energy infrastructure.

• Leading geotechnical inputs into renewable energy projects from feasibility through to detailed design
• Reviewing and interpreting ground investigation data and developing ground models
• Producing and reviewing geotechnical reports, specifications and technical documentation
• Geotechnical design including foundations, earthworks, slopes and access tracks
• Supporting foundation assessments for wind turbines and other renewable infrastructure
• Geotechnical assessment of cut and fill, retaining structures and temporary works
• Planning and managing ground investigation programmes
• Providing technical input to multidisciplinary project teams
• Managing projects, budgets, programmes and client relationships
• Liaising with contractors, clients and other technical specialists
• Mentoring and supporting junior and graduate engineers

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline
• Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status
• Strong consultancy experience within geotechnical engineering
• Experience delivering geotechnical projects from investigation through to design
• Good understanding of UK ground conditions and relevant design standards
• Experience with geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, SLOPE/W, WALLAP or GEO5 would be beneficial
• Strong technical report writing and communication skills
• Full UK driving licence
