We're recruiting for an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join a major underground tunnelling and civil engineering project in South London. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a complex infrastructure scheme involving deep underground tunnels, large reinforced concrete shafts and associated civil engineering works.
The RoleAs Senior Health & Safety Advisor, you'll provide leadership and support to the operational teams, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing are maintained throughout the project. You'll work closely with Project Management, Construction teams and site leadership to drive a positive safety culture and ensure compliance across all areas of the project.
Key Responsibilities-
Lead health and safety across the project.

Provide advice and support to Project Managers, Supervisors and operational teams.

Carry out site inspections, audits and workplace surveillance.

Lead accident and incident investigations and implement corrective actions.

Develop and deliver health and safety improvement initiatives and campaigns.

Review health and safety plans, procedures and method statements.

Analyse health and safety performance data and identify opportunities for improvement.

Support inductions, training and wellbeing initiatives.

Liaise with key stakeholders and promote a proactive safety culture.

Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation, policies and project requirements.

Previous experience as a Senior Health & Safety Advisor within civil engineering or major infrastructure.

Tunnelling experience would be highly advantageous.

Relevant Health & Safety qualification and professional membership (such as NEBOSH, IOSH, IEMA or CQI).

Experience carrying out audits, inspections and incident investigations.

Strong understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 standards.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Commercial awareness and the ability to influence teams at all levels.
