The Supply Register is recruiting on behalf of one of our partner Multi-Academy Trusts for an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join their HR team based at Head Office in Leicester.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional with a strong understanding of the education sector. The successful candidate will provide expert HR advice and support to school leaders across the Trust, managing a varied caseload while ensuring compliance with employment legislation, safeguarding requirements and Trust policies.

The Role

As a Senior HR Advisor, you will:

  • Provide professional HR advice and guidance to Headteachers, senior leaders and managers.

  • Manage a wide range of employee relations casework, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, sickness absence and performance management.

  • Advise on HR policies, procedures and current employment legislation.

  • Support schools with organisational change, restructures and workforce planning where required.

  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding requirements and Safer Recruitment guidance.

  • Support recruitment campaigns, interview processes and onboarding.

  • Build strong working relationships with school leaders and stakeholders across the Trust.

  • Maintain accurate HR records and documentation.

  • Promote best practice and contribute to the continuous improvement of HR services.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience working as a Senior HR Advisor or HR Advisor is essential.

  • Previous experience working within education is essential, with a strong understanding of school environments and the challenges they face.

  • Significant experience managing complex employee relations casework.

  • Excellent knowledge of Safer Recruitment practices and safeguarding requirements.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.

  • Excellent communication, organisational and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to manage a busy and varied workload.

  • CIPD qualification (or working towards) is desirable.

Essential Compliance Requirements

As this role is within an education setting, successful applicants must be able to:

  • Provide a full employment history covering the last 24 months.

  • Provide a minimum of two employment references (three if you have not previously worked with children).

  • Complete an Employment History Form covering every month from leaving full-time education.

  • Provide character references where required to cover any gaps in employment.

  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.

  • Provide proof of right to work in the UK.

  • Provide two proofs of address, proof of National Insurance and any relevant name change documentation.

  • Provide an overseas police check if you have lived outside the UK for more than six months.

  • Complete our free mandatory safeguarding and compliance training.
