Senior Inclusion Worker

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Pay: £110 - £140 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Temp to Perm

About the Role

As a Senior Inclusion Worker, you will:

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students aged 5-14.
  • Support learners with SEMH, behavioural and additional learning needs.
  • Lead targeted intervention programmes to improve engagement and attendance.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, parents and external agencies.
  • Manage challenging behaviour using restorative and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Provide mentoring and one-to-one support to vulnerable students.
  • Assist with safeguarding and welfare concerns, ensuring all procedures are followed.


The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working within an Alternative Provision, PRU, SEN setting or mainstream school pastoral team.
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
  • Experience supporting students with SEMH, ADHD, ASD or trauma-related needs.
  • A calm, resilient and empathetic approach.
  • Relevant qualifications in Youth Work, Education, Health & Social Care, Behaviour Support or a related field are desirable.


Essential Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Two professional references covering the last two years.
  • Previous experience supporting young people in an education, youth work or care setting.
