The Company

Our client is a luxury interior design studio, recognised for delivering beautifully considered, high-end interiors across prestigious hospitality, commercial and private client projects.

The studio has built a strong reputation for creativity, quality and attention to detail, producing elegant and highly tailored spaces for discerning clients. Due to a period of maternity cover and continued project demand, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Interior Designer to join their team on an initial contract basis, with the potential for the role to become permanent.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Senior Interior Designer to join a luxury, design-led studio and take a key role across high-end hospitality and commercial interior projects.

The role is being offered initially as maternity cover, however there is a genuine opportunity for the position to develop into a permanent role for the right person, depending on business needs and overall fit.

The successful candidate will be involved across all stages of the design process, from concept development and client presentations through to detailed design, technical coordination, FF&E input and project delivery.

This role would suit someone who has a strong design eye, excellent technical ability and proven experience working on luxury hospitality and commercial interiors. The studio is looking for a confident, polished and highly organised designer who can manage projects, support clients and work collaboratively with internal teams, consultants and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

The role will include:

  • Leading and supporting the design development of luxury hospitality and commercial interior projects
  • Producing creative concepts, mood boards, presentations and design narratives
  • Developing space plans, layouts and detailed design packages
  • Preparing technical drawings, schedules and specifications
  • Coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal design teams
  • Supporting FF&E selections, finishes, materials and bespoke furniture concepts
  • Ensuring projects are delivered in line with the client brief, programme and design standards
  • Attending client meetings, design reviews and project coordination meetings
  • Managing multiple project workstreams and deadlines
  • Supporting junior and midweight designers where required
  • Maintaining a high standard of design, presentation and technical output

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Interior Designer with a strong background in luxury hospitality and commercial interiors.

You will need to be confident working across both creative and technical stages of a project, with the ability to produce beautiful design work while also understanding the practical requirements of delivery.

This role is likely to suit someone currently working as a Senior Interior Designer, Interior Designer, Interior Architect or similar within a luxury design studio, hospitality design practice, commercial interiors studio or high-end interior architecture environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Interior Designer, ideally at Senior level
  • Must have experience working on hospitality and commercial interior projects
  • Experience within a luxury, high-end or design-led studio environment
  • Strong concept design, presentation and design development skills
  • Good technical understanding and ability to produce detailed design information
  • Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers
  • Strong knowledge of finishes, materials, furniture and interior detailing
  • Confident managing projects or work packages from concept through to delivery
  • Strong communication, organisation and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider design team
  • Software skills in AutoCAD, SketchUp, InDesign, Photoshop and/or similar design packages
  • Revit experience would be beneficial but is not essential

Desirable Experience

  • Luxury hotel, restaurant, members’ club, workplace, retail or commercial interior projects
  • Experience working with high-net-worth clients or premium hospitality brands
  • Bespoke furniture, joinery and FF&E knowledge
  • Experience mentoring junior designers
  • Knowledge of UK building regulations and project coordination processes
