A privately owned multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing MEP team.
The business has a strong reputation for delivering technically complex projects across the UK and internationally, with services spanning MEP, fire engineering, fire protection, sustainability, project management and building validation.
Their project portfolio covers sectors including healthcare, data centres, defence, education, commercial, residential and industrial, offering engineers exposure to a varied range of technically challenging schemes.
The Opportunity
They're looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer who can take ownership of mechanical design projects while playing an active role in the wider MEP team.
You'll work closely with clients, architects and other engineering disciplines, leading projects from concept through to completion. There is also scope to take on greater responsibility for technical leadership, mentoring and client relationships as you develop within the business.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead mechanical design and delivery from concept through to completion
- Produce and review calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports
- Develop HVAC and mechanical building services solutions
- Coordinate designs with electrical, public health, fire and other disciplines
- Attend client, contractor and design team meetings
- Manage project deliverables and provide technical leadership
- Undertake design reviews and support junior engineers
- Contribute to sustainable and energy-efficient engineering solutions
About You
You'll ideally have:
- Significant experience within a building services consultancy
- Strong technical knowledge across mechanical building services design
- Experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- The ability to take ownership of projects and deliver work independently
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers
- Chartered status, or be working towards Chartership
Experience across technically complex sectors such as healthcare, data centres or defence would be advantageous.
