Location: West Yorkshire 
Salary: Up to £60,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance

An established building services contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to join its pre-construction team based in Castleford.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in securing a varied portfolio of mechanical building services projects across the commercial and retail sectors, working alongside experienced operational and commercial teams.

The Role

Responsibilities include:

• Producing accurate and competitive mechanical estimates from tender enquiries.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and employer’s requirements.
• Completing detailed take-offs and preparing cost plans.
• Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Identifying value engineering opportunities without compromising quality.
• Preparing tender submissions and supporting commercial negotiations.
• Assessing project risks and ensuring commercially robust submissions.
• Working closely with Contracts Managers, Design Engineers and the wider pre-construction team.
• Maintaining estimating records and helping improve estimating processes.

The Person

Applicants should have:

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator or Senior Mechanical Estimator within the building services industry.
• Strong understanding of HVAC and mechanical building services installations.
• Experience pricing commercial, retail, industrial or mixed-use MEP projects.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
