Are you an experienced professional passionate about driving the green energy transition? We are actively seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Estimator to join our dynamic team on a mission-critical project. As we work on a large-scale, first-of-its-kind carbon capture initiative, we need a dedicated expert to help us shape the future of sustainable infrastructure.



Role Overview

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for precise cost estimation, managing operational risks, and ensuring the effective delivery of estimating services. You will act as a senior leader within the bid team, providing technical advice and mentoring others to achieve excellence. This is a high-priority position, and we are looking to expedite the hiring process to ensure the successful delivery of this flagship project.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the estimation process, including pricing changes and interrogation of complex design options.
  • Assess installation times for large-scale equipment like steam turbines and HRSG boilers based on technical drawings.
  • Manage bid budgets, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and financial strategies.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and specialists to optimise design, value, and project logistics.
  • Implement modern digital toolsets, including 5D cost planning and BIM integration.


Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in estimating for large-scale mechanical projects (e.g., HRSG boilers, steam turbines).
  • Detailed knowledge of high-integrity and exotic pipework systems.
  • Proven ability to manage estimating processes within regulated, petrochemical, or nuclear environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and industry-standard estimating systems.
  • Valid CSCS card; professional membership (e.g., RICS, CIOB, CIBSE) is highly desirable.


What We Offer

We provide a collaborative, forward-thinking environment where your expertise directly contributes to global sustainability goals. We offer a competitive rate of £83 per hour for a 42-hour work week. This is a 6-month contract based in Teeside but could also be fully remote for the right candidate
