Senior Part 21J Design Engineer (Remote)

Our client, an established aerospace design and certification organisation operating under EASA Part 21J Design Organisation Approval, is seeking a Senior Part 21J Design Engineer to support an expanding global aviation customer base. The role will involve the design and certification of modifications and repairs for aircraft, helicopters and engine nacelle structures. This is a permanent opportunity based primarily in Scotland or Ireland, with remote working potentially available.

• Designing and supporting the certification of aircraft, helicopter and engine nacelle modifications and repairs
• Working within a Part 21J Design Organisation Approval environment to deliver compliant engineering solutions
• Collaborating with engineers and support teams to coordinate modification projects from initial concept through to completion
• Applying knowledge of EASA Certification Specifications, including CS-23, CS-25, CS-27 and CS-29 requirements
• Supporting the delivery of projects to agreed time, cost and quality requirements
• Communicating effectively with internal teams, customers and other technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Supporting the progression of designs through to manufacture and final modification delivery
• Contributing to engineering improvements and the continued development of the design organisation

• Significant experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Aeronautical Engineer within an EASA Part 21J Design Organisation environment
• Strong knowledge of Part 21 requirements and aircraft design and certification processes
• Good understanding of relevant EASA Certification Specifications across CS-23, CS-25, CS-27 and CS-29
• Degree-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or a related discipline
• Effective project organisation skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet strict delivery requirements
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Understanding of the transition from engineering design to manufacturing and aircraft modification
• Experience in stress analysis would be advantageous
• Ambition to progress towards CVE approval, or existing CVE approval, would be beneficial
