Red Sky Personnel are recruiting for an experienced Senior Planner to join a leading rail and infrastructure contractor delivering major rail and civil engineering projects across Dublin and the surrounding area.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business with a strong pipeline of work across both light rail and heavy rail infrastructure, supporting the successful planning and delivery of complex civil engineering projects.

The Role

As Senior Planner, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining and managing project programmes throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with operational, commercial and engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Based in West Dublin, you will support the delivery of projects across rail infrastructure and heavy civils. Whilst previous rail experience would be advantageous, candidates with a strong civil engineering background will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project programmes using Primavera P6 or equivalent planning software.
• Produce baseline, contract and construction programmes.
• Monitor project progress and update programmes throughout delivery.
• Carry out critical path analysis and identify programme risks and opportunities.
• Produce programme reports, look-ahead schedules and planning documentation.
• Support tender and work-winning activities where required.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, commercial teams and clients.
• Assist with programme recovery and mitigation strategies.
• Ensure planning outputs support successful project delivery.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Previous experience as a Senior Planner or Planner within rail, civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
• A strong engineering or civil engineering background.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 (or similar planning software).
• Experience developing and managing complex construction programmes.
• Strong understanding of project controls, programme reporting and critical path analysis.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline is desirable.
