An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior / Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join a growing engineering consultancy delivering major infrastructure, water, transportation and energy projects across the UK.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical delivery, project leadership, client engagement and team development within a collaborative consultancy environment.

The successful Senior / Principal Geotechnical Engineer will act as a key link between senior leadership and technical teams, helping to deliver complex geotechnical projects while supporting the development of junior engineers and contributing to business growth.

The Role

As a Senior / Principal Geotechnical Engineer, you'll be involved in:

  • Leading the delivery of geotechnical engineering projects across multiple sectors
  • Providing technical guidance and quality assurance on project outputs
  • Managing and mentoring junior engineers and developing technical capability
  • Undertaking geotechnical assessments, analysis and reporting
  • Supporting project planning, resource management and delivery programmes
  • Working closely with clients and multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Assisting with business development and work-winning activities
  • Supporting the growth and development of the geotechnical team

This Senior / Principal Geotechnical Engineer position offers exposure to a broad range of projects across infrastructure, transportation, water and emerging energy sectors.

What They're Looking For

  • Experience working as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer or Principal Geotechnical Engineer
  • Strong technical geotechnical engineering background
  • Experience delivering infrastructure, transportation, water or energy projects
  • Ability to mentor and support junior team members
  • Experience managing client relationships and project delivery
  • Strong technical reporting and communication skills
  • Chartered Engineer status would be highly advantageous

Candidates with experience across water, transport infrastructure, ground engineering, rail, highways, energy or major projects will be particularly well suited.
