Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Location: Trawsfynydd (Onsite minimum 3 days per week) | Occasional travel to Manchester | Flexible remote working options

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and support the delivery of planned work across the Sellafield Portfolio. Working closely with the Contract Lead, you will play a key role in the strategic management of our project delivery function, taking whole-life accountability for a complex portfolio of nuclear projects and tasks from early pre-construction through to final handover.

This role requires a proven leader with expertise in design management, team leadership, and major infrastructure delivery within highly regulated environments.



Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Select, lead, direct, and develop a high-performing team of project managers and area delivery teams across your portfolio.
  • Pre-Construction Planning: Support early-stage planning and strategy for new scopes of work.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build trusted, long-term relationships with key client and Sellafield stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Operational Excellence: Promote a culture of efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement across the delivery team and broader framework.
  • End-to-End Delivery: Provide whole-life oversight and accountability for project success across design, procurement, assembly, commissioning, and handover.
  • Safety & Wellbeing: Champion a proactive safety culture targeting Zero LTI and RIDDOR incidents, ensuring strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Commercial & Supply Chain: Partner closely with commercial and supply chain teams from initial tender through to final delivery to meet performance and commercial objectives.
  • Data & Digital Integration: Leverage performance data, operational insights, and digital tools to inform decision-making and boost delivery efficiency.


Key Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven Leadership: Demonstrated track record as an operational, delivery-focused leader on complex or critical UK major infrastructure schemes (Nuclear sector experience strongly preferred).
  • Multi-Project Management: Significant experience managing and delivering multi-project frameworks or programmes of work.
  • Contractual Expertise: Strong working knowledge of construction contract law and standard forms of contract (e.g., NEC).
  • Technical & Digital Skills: Proficient in project and operational software, including Primavera P6, CEMAR, document control systems, and MS Office.
  • Site Certification: Valid CSCS card.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, negotiate, and influence key internal and external stakeholders effectively.


Work Pattern & Travel

  • Primary Base: Trawsfynydd site (minimum 3 days per week required).
  • Remote Working: Flexible work-from-home options available for remaining days.
  • Travel: Occasional travel to Manchester required.
