Senior Quantity Surveyor | Aberdeen / Hybrid | Up to £550/day

Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor (Civil Works)

Location: Westhill, Aberdeen (3 days office/site, 2 days WFH)

Duration: ASAP - 31/12/2026

Rate: £500 - £550 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)

Hours: 42 hours per week

The Opportunity

Join a Tier 1 project team delivered in partnership with SSE on a major pre-construction energy infrastructure project near Peterhead. This interim contract bridges a critical resource gap during the pre-construction phase leading into full site construction on October 1st.

You will lead commercial delivery for key civil works, taking ownership of high-value, complex subcontract packages for two major substations and associated facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full commercial responsibility for major civil works packages, including groundworks (£22m & £6m) and steel/envelope packages (£13m).

• Execute end-to-end subcontract administration and management under NEC3 Option A contracts.

• Lead commercial negotiations, variation management, applications for payment, and final accounts.

• Ensure accurate forecasting, cost reporting, and risk mitigation throughout the pre-construction phase and main build kickoff.

Requirements

• Contract Expertise: Proven track record managing large-scale subcontracts strictly under NEC3 Option A.

• Sector Background: Strong background in major civil engineering, infrastructure, or heavy groundwork's packages.

• Subcontract Scale: Hands-on experience administering individual packages valued in excess of £10m+.

• Location: Ability to work from the Westhill, Aberdeen office 3 days per week (2 days remote).

• Software (Preferred): Practical experience using CEAR software for subcontract administration.
