Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor 
About The Role:
We are looking to strengthen our Commercial team with a Senior Quantity Surveyor based at our Stepps office with hybrid working available.

You will report directly to the Commercial Manager and you will be expected to take responsibility for the Commercial Management of Project(s).

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide commercial and quantity surveying support across projects, programmes and individual work packages.
  • Work closely with design, delivery and supply chain stakeholders to monitor, assess and manage project expenditure.
  • Engage proactively with the client to understand and deliver against their commercial and operational requirements.
  • Administer the principal contract, including identifying, preparing and issuing contractual notices, records and correspondence where required.
  • Draft, prepare and administer subcontract agreements and associated documentation.
  • Support the oversight of subcontractor performance, commercial management and delivery.
  • Coordinate the preparation, review and agreement of interim payment applications and associated valuations.
  • Produce accurate financial information, including project cost reports, value assessments, budgets, forecasts and other commercial reporting.
  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced members of the commercial team, contributing to their professional development.
  • Take ownership of ongoing professional development through relevant industry events, networking opportunities, professional bodies and knowledge-sharing activities, keeping up to date with emerging practices and developments.
  • Adopt a constructive, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach, communicating openly and providing clear, honest feedback.
  • Carry out additional reasonable duties, training or working arrangements that align with the scope and responsibilities of the position.
  • Represent the commercial function and MWH Treatment professionally in all interactions, building effective, respectful and productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Handle commercially sensitive and confidential information appropriately, taking all reasonable measures to protect its confidentiality.

 

About The Candidate:

Essential

Degree or equivalent
Working towards or have chartered membership of a recognised institution
Experience in utilities/civil engineering/MEICA sectors
NEC3 Experience
Desirable
Experience of managing and developing an individual or small team
