Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major infrastructure programme based in Melksham, supporting large-scale transmission and renewable energy projects.

The role will focus on the commercial management of complex infrastructure projects, including the construction and commissioning of electrical substations and associated works.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial performance of multiple projects from inception through to final account. You will work closely with project management, engineering, clients and subcontractors to control costs, manage contractual change and identify commercial risks and opportunities.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing and administering NEC3/NEC4 contracts, including NEC4 ECC.
• Managing Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
• Preparing CVRs, cost reports, forecasts and financial reporting.
• Managing variations and negotiating associated costs.
• Managing subcontractor procurement and commercial administration.
• Identifying and mitigating commercial risks.
• Supporting project teams with commercial and contractual advice.
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in commercial management and practical NEC3/NEC4 experience.

You will need:

• Significant Quantity Surveying experience.
• Strong NEC3 or NEC4 contract experience.
• Experience with cost control, CVRs, forecasting and commercial reporting.
• Strong negotiation and commercial management skills.
• Experience managing subcontractors and contractual change.
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Flexibility to attend substations sites at least 3 days per week.

Experience within substations, high-voltage power, transmission, distribution or renewable energy would be highly desirable.
