MMP are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our clients Commercial team and lead the commercial delivery of construction projects from pre-construction through to final account.
This is a key leadership position responsible for maximising project profitability, managing commercial risk, ensuring contractual compliance, and supporting successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, cost plans, and cash flow projections.
Administer contracts under JCT, NEC, and other relevant forms of contract.
Procure and manage subcontract packages, including tender analysis and subcontract awards.
Prepare and submit valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
Manage variations, compensation events, and contractual claims.
Produce and review monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports.
Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities.
Support project teams in delivering projects safely, efficiently, and profitably.
Provide commercial advice to project teams and senior management.
Lead negotiations with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Ensure accurate and timely commercial reporting.
Mentor and develop Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors.
Support tendering, bid submissions, and pre-construction activities.
Drive continuous improvement and commercial best practice across the business.
Essential Experience
8+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying within the UK construction industry.
Minimum 3 years' experience operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor level or equivalent.
Proven experience delivering medium to large-scale construction projects.
Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
Extensive experience in subcontract procurement and management.
Proven ability to manage project budgets, forecasts, valuations, CVRs, and final accounts.
Strong understanding of commercial risk management and contractual entitlement.
Experience leading and mentoring commercial team members.
Experience working within a Design & Build environment.
Essential Skills
Excellent commercial awareness and financial acumen.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience using commercial and project management software.
Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
Qualifications
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
CSCS Card.
Strong understanding of UK construction contracts and commercial practice.
Desirable
MRICS, MCIOB, or working towards professional chartership.
