Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, we are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the financial and contractual management of fire and security projects, helping to drive profitability, mitigate risk, and support the successful delivery of projects nationwide.



The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of multiple projects from pre-construction through to final account. Working closely with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and senior leadership, you will ensure projects are delivered within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial performance of fire and security installation projects.
  • Prepare cost plans, budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Prepare and submit valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
  • Monitor project costs and identify opportunities for improved profitability.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiations, and account settlements.
  • Assess and manage project risks and variations.
  • Provide commercial advice and support to operational teams.
  • Lead contract reviews and support tendering activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support junior commercial staff where required.


About You



Essential Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role, with at least 2 years operating at Senior QS level.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including JCT and NEC forms.
  • Proven experience managing project budgets and commercial performance.
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and financial management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial management software.
  • Full UK driving licence.


Desirable

  • Experience within fire protection, fire systems, security systems, M&E, or specialist contracting sectors.
  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or working towards chartership.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of passive fire protection and life safety systems.
