An excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with main contractor experience to move into the fast-growing and lucrative data centre sector.
You’ll join a leading contractor delivering a major data centre project in Canary Wharf. Previous data centre experience is not essential. The business is open to Senior Quantity Surveyors from large commercial new-build projects who can bring strong main contractor experience and full commercial knowledge.

The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take commercial responsibility for key packages from procurement through to final account.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the commercial delivery of major construction packages
- Procuring subcontractors and negotiating contract terms
- Managing valuations, payments, variations and final accounts
- Producing cost reports, forecasts and cash-flow information
- Identifying and managing commercial risks
- Working closely with the project and senior commercial teams
- Attending and leading commercial meetings
- Managing contractual notices, EOTs and loss and expense claims
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team
- Helping ensure the project is delivered within budget
You’ll be joining a well-established, forward-thinking contractor specialising in high-tech and mission-critical construction.
The business delivers technically complex projects across the UK, Ireland and Northern Europe, with a strong pipeline across data centres, life sciences, advanced manufacturing and aviation.
They offer long-term stability, structured development and clear progression towards Commercial Manager level.
What We’re Looking For
- Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong main contractor experience
- Experience working on large commercial new-build projects
- Able to manage major packages independently
- Strong procurement, cost reporting and subcontract management experience
- Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial risk
- Confident dealing with project teams, subcontractors and senior stakeholders
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related subject preferred
- Data centre experience is useful but not essential
