Rate: £40.50 per hour Umbrella
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days per week office-based
Hours: Full-time, with condensed hours over 4 days considered
Eden Brown Synergy are currently looking for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join Suffolk County Council's Social Care Team in Stowmarket.
The team works across Child in Need, Looked After Children, Child Assessment, and Support & Prevention, providing high-quality statutory social work to children and families with a range of complex needs.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Managing a complex social work caseload, currently averaging around 40 cases.
- Making and implementing autonomous professional decisions involving complex levels of risk, uncertainty and challenge.
- Completing comprehensive assessments of children's needs, risk and safeguarding concerns.
- Planning and delivering targeted interventions to meet identified needs and reduce risk.
- Leading and undertaking Section 47 child protection investigations where significant harm is suspected.
- Working closely with children, families and partner agencies to coordinate appropriate support and services.
- Preparing accurate, analytical and evidence-based reports.
- Presenting complex and sensitive information at multi-agency meetings and legal forums.
- Supporting colleagues and contributing to strong, reflective and effective social work practice within the team.
Essential Requirements:
- A recognised Social Work degree or equivalent qualification.
- Current Social Work England (SWE) registration.
- At least 3 years' post-qualification experience working in Social Work roles within a UK English Local Authority.
- Strong experience managing complex children's social work caseloads.
- Experience completing complex assessments of risk and need and delivering effective interventions.
- Experience across areas such as Child in Need, Child Protection, Looked After Children and Child Assessment.
- Experience supporting, supervising or developing colleagues.
- Strong report-writing and analytical skills, with confidence presenting information in multi-agency and legal settings.
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle.
