THE CLIENT
FUSION is partnering with a Bristol-based structural engineering consultancy to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer. The consultancy delivers domestic and commercial building projects, including schemes with contract values of up to £2m.
The role sits within the structural engineering team and combines hands-on design with project leadership, client coordination, site work and structural surveys.
THE ROLE
You will take responsibility for structural calculations and drawings while leading projects from design coordination through site activity. The work includes regular liaison with architects, clients and contractors, alongside attendance at design meetings and site visits.
The position also includes structural survey work and a contribution to business development, giving the appointed engineer a broad role across technical delivery and client relationships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce and review structural calculations and drawings for domestic and commercial building projects.
- Lead structural engineering delivery on projects with contract values of up to £2m.
- Coordinate with architects, clients and contractors throughout design and delivery.
- Attend design meetings and site visits to resolve structural and coordination matters.
- Carry out structural surveys and communicate findings clearly.
- Contribute to business development and the development of client relationships.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- At least three years of post-graduate structural engineering experience.
- Experience designing building structures, including masonry, timber and steel.
- Ability to produce clear structural calculations, drawings and hand-drawn sketches.
- Experience coordinating directly with clients and other project stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
- Chartered Engineer status with ICE or IStructE.
- Experience delivering domestic structural engineering projects.
- Experience using Autodesk Revit.
