We are seeking an experienced Senior Transport Planner to play a key role within a growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of projects, lead technical delivery, and contribute directly to client relationships and business growth.
You will work across a diverse portfolio of schemes and be trusted to deliver high-quality technical outputs while supporting and mentoring junior team members.
 
Key Responsibilities
·Lead the preparation of Transport Assessments (TA), Transport Statements (TS) and Travel Plans
·Manage and review traffic impact work across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments
·Oversee or contribute to junction modelling and capacity assessments (Junctions 9 / LinSig / ARCADY where applicable)
·Undertake site visits, access appraisals and highway feasibility assessments
·Produce swept path analysis, visibility splays and preliminary highway design layouts
·Coordinate and interpret traffic survey data and transport modelling outputs
·Liaise directly with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary design teams
·Attend and lead client meetings, providing technical advice and solutions
·Support project management including scoping, budgeting and delivery planning
·Mentor junior staff and review technical outputs for quality assurance
 
About You
·4-8+ years' experience in transport planning or highways consultancy
·Degree qualified in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering or similar
·Strong experience producing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans
·Confident using AutoCAD (GIS and junction modelling software desirable)
·Strong understanding of UK planning policy and transport guidance
·Comfortable working independently and managing multiple projects
·Strong communication skills with a client-facing mindset
