The firm works closely with trustees and beneficiaries to preserve and grow capital over the long term, with a disciplined and considered approach to investment strategy.
Your new role
This role is directly responsible for the ownership of a portfolio of family and charitable trusts and overseeing both the administrative and compliance requirements. The role involves liaising directly with clients and advisers, ensuring accurate reporting across accounts and tax, and supporting more complex trust matters with a higher level of responsibility and judgement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of trusts and estates, overseeing all administrative activity including payments, distributions, cashflow management and beneficiary arrangements
- Preparing and reviewing trust accounts and tax returns across income tax, CGT and IHT, including more complex calculations such as 10-year and exit charges
- Acting as a key point of contact for trustees, beneficiaries and professional advisers, handling correspondence and building strong working relationships
- Monitoring bank accounts and investment activity, ensuring accurate reconciliations and effective cash management across portfolios
- Supporting more complex trust events and projects, including restructuring, beneficiary changes and interpreting evolving tax legislation
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong technical knowledge across trust accounting and taxation (income tax, CGT and IHT), with the ability to interpret and apply evolving legislation
- Proven experience managing a portfolio of trusts and estates independently, with confidence handling more complex structures and scenarios
- Excellent attention to detail, with a proactive and organised approach to managing multiple deadlines and priorities
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and liaise effectively with trustees, beneficiaries and external advisers
- Solid systems experience (ideally CCH suite), alongside a commercial mindset and a thorough understanding of trust operations and client needs
What you'll get in return
- Competitive salary and benefits package reflective of experience
- Opportunity to take on increased responsibility and develop into a more senior role over time
- Exposure to complex trust structures and a high-quality client base
