Automotive Service Advisor

Croydon | £40,000–£45,000 + Performance Increments | Monday–Friday | Permanent

The Role

As Service Advisor, you’ll play a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience while keeping the workshop operating efficiently and commercially.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the customer journey from professional meet-and-greet through to vehicle collection and end-of-day handover.
• Explaining invoices clearly and confidently and processing customer payments.
• Managing and optimising the workshop diary to ensure jobs are scheduled efficiently and the workshop remains productive.
• Building accurate estimates and obtaining customer authorisation promptly.
• Identifying and ordering the correct parts for each job.
• Proactively following up outstanding quotations and helping maximise opportunities for the business.
• Working closely with the Front of House Manager and Workshop Manager to ensure smooth communication and job progression.
• Managing part returns and associated administration.
• Preparing end-of-day invoice bundles.
• Processing safety inspection reports accurately and efficiently.
• Maintaining a consistently high standard of customer service and administration.

Importantly, you won’t be expected to have complex technical conversations with customers. You’ll have the support of the workshop team around you, allowing you to focus on what you do best — managing customers, communication, workflow and the overall service experience.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with a strong, proven background as a Service Advisor, ideally gained within a main dealer or high-end specialist environment.

You’ll also need:

• A genuine customer-first approach built around integrity and transparent communication.
• Excellent customer service and telephone skills.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• The ability to manage your own workload and work independently.
• Confidence working towards targets and KPIs.
• A willingness to learn and continually develop your skills.
• A team-focused attitude and a desire to contribute to a positive working environment.
• The ambition to progress and build a long-term career within the business.
